Pet Doors In Glass FAQs

How long does the installation process take?
The process involves 2 steps. First a check measure followed by installation. Lead times are approx 2 weeks for single glazing & a bit longer for double glazing.
Toughened glass is more than 4 times stronger than ordinary glass which is why it is the only glass suitable for pet doors. Ordinary float is just not safe. And laminated glass tends to crack over time.
Because not all glass is created equal and there is only one type of glass that is suitable for pet door installation – Grade A Toughened Safety Glass. Here’s a couple of examples of why both laminated glass and ordinary float glass are just not suitable for pet doors. (see pics). We only install pet doors into Grade A Toughened Safety Glass – for the safety of you and your pet.

Before choosing your pet door, first measure your pet for accuracy

Well that depends on a number of factors including – do you have a security screen? What is the access like outside? Do you have curtains in the way? How big is the gap between the sliding door and the fixed panel? All these things can be discussed with you at the check measure.
Yes- installing pet doors into double glazing is our specialty. Pricing varies depending on the make up and size of your double glazed unit.
Always measure your pet before purchasing your pet door. Consider the height and width of your pet’s body and allow a few extra centimeters either side for wriggle room. If you’ve got a pup remember to future proof your purchase by allowing for growth.
