There are many labels given to patterned glass including obscure glass, frosted glass, patterned glass, textured glass, translucent glass, privacy glass, decorative glass.
And in an effort to keep up with trends the different types of patterned glass that are manufactured at any given time can change throughout the eras. Which is great when adding a new style or look to your home but can often cause problems when the glass breaks and needs to be replaced.
This is a problem that is magnified when the glass needs to be replaced with safety glass as per the Australian Standards AS1288. Because not only can certain styles be difficult to source – many glass patterns are not available in safety glass which limits options for replacement.
